In Bruges never goes long without gettings some love around here, so the second film from director (and playwright) Martin McDonagh –especially featuring a cast like this one– was always bound to get us excited.
Well now we have a trailer for Seven Psychopaths, and the pay-off on all this anticipation is already huge. The story of a screenwriter getting involved in a gangster dog-napping played out by a huge cast including Colin Farrell, Christopher Walken, Sam Rockwell, Woody Harrelson, Abbie Cornish, Harry Dean Stanton, Olga Kurylenko, Gabourey Sidibe, and Tom Waits looks just hilarious, with the kind of truly inspired snappy dialogue you just don’t get that often. This film reads to me like In Bruges multiplied by Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, and I simply can’t think of a better equation than that.
The film premieres at TIFF, but hits theaters for the rest of us on October 12th.
