Even if the Wachowskis and Tom Tykwer ultimately fail with Cloud Atlas, you can at least respect such an inspired risk. They were wise to employ the same actors throughout time, each representing an individual soul. I’m uncertain how middle-America is going to react to some of the headier themes involving reincarnation but this certainly looks like a film demanding open minds.
And while it’s anything new for a Wachowski joint to look blissfully stunning, the siblings represent here once again. A brief but effective spot and one that hopefully gets assess into seats on October 26th:
