It’s hard to report on Spike Lee’s upcoming Oldboy remake without speculating on the nature of Elizabeth Olsen’s character. If you’ve seen the 2003 Park Chan-Wook film, you’ll know what I’m referring to. If not, I don’t want to spoil it other than to say revenge takes on a new meaning once you’ve seen the original.

But, aside from Brolin in the Oh Dae-Su role (Joe Doucet in the remake), we don’t know all that much about what direction Lee’s new film will take.  The Korean film largely deviated from the original manga, and one assumes Lee will put his own unique stamp on the material. So, for now, there’s not too much to be gleaned from these set pics of Josh Brolin and Olsen. Except…
