We’re in the thick of some of the best stuff 2012 has to offer and yet I’m already salivating for a few 2013 releases, Steven Soderbergh’s Side Effects chief among them.
The new thriller, and potentially final pre-hiatus film from the director, follows a woman whose anxiety leads her to use a new drug that turns her world upside. It looks sharp, exciting, conspiratorial and dramatic, with Soderbergh’s mix of precision filmmaking and subtle flourish seeming to run through its veins, Side Effects will be unmissable.
The film is set for February 8th, 2013, so there’s not long to wait. Still, a few super high-res stills from the film are gorgeous enough to make one hungry even while polishing off the last of an already great 2012 cinema buffet. The stunning Rooney Mara and her co-stars Channing Tatum, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and Jude Law look as well-captured as they’ve ever been.
