Oh, I think the people with business sense would love to push that money button marked “Khan.” And it will work. It won’t be good, of course, but it will make money. Because what are we going to do with this clean slate, fresh start, wide open universe we’ve recreated? Why, rehash what everyone has already spent money on.

Not Khan, never was, and when the idea was initially brought up it was quickly shot down by people with more business and artistic sense than the hordes of slathering fanboys.
