...writing a book on Corbucci's career and his films to be completed and published once Quentin "retires" from directing on down the line. Personally, I expect to see the tome hit shelves before Quentin actually puts down the camera though.

Agreed. Everyone is expecting a lot of callbacks to Leone in Django Unchained and they are right to do so to a certain extent. I personally expect FAR more aimed at the other Sergio that ruled the spaghetti western realm: Corbucci. Quentin has always been an unabashed fan of the man's work and it is his influence that I see all over the DU trailers more than Leone.

First saw Navajo Joe on a tape I rented back in 2004 from Hollywood Video after (of course) discovering the tracks in Kill Bill: Volume 2. It really is a great film, and I'm glad I scooped up the dvd several years ago, as it's now OOP.

Great write up, Renn. I just got a little bit more excited about Django Unchained.

It’s not recent news, but it really warms my heart seeing how you folks overseas appreciate the great and often unsung works of our masters. I guess everybody knows The Great Silence, but Navajo Joe is just as good. Actually, Sergio Corbucci’s entire run of westerns is full of classics.
