The Carrie remake, in theatres October 18th, is a film I’m actually starting to anticipate. De Palma’s original, while a classic in its own right, is the definitive take on the King novel by default. But MGM may have found the right director to retackle the material, as remake director Kimberly Pierce’s Boys Don’t Cry features a hella-disturbing third act in its own right. The creepy marketing for the film suggests MGM knows they’re angling for tentpole status come Halloween as well, as a few of you may remember speaking with Carrie on the phone a while back.

My interest in the film stems mainly from a packed cast: Chloë Grace Moretz in the lead, Julianne Moore as mother, and Judy Grace doing whatever the hell she wants. This latest image is par for the course in terms of what we’ve already seen, though the pose here suggests Moretz is prime to get hellishly telekinetic on someone’s ass.
