Per Deadline, Paramount has sneaked a second teaser for Star Trek Into Darkness into theaters with Oz the Great and Powerful this weekend, and it can be seen above. While about the same length as the first one, I think it captures the characters and scope much better than the first teaser and Super Bowl spot brought forth. Those seemed to be all flair (and flares) in hinting at mass futuristic destruction. Here, we’ve got intergalactic action and glimpses of Kirk, Spock, Bones and the rest of the crew that have a more Trekian feel.

Outside of two teasers, the Super Bowl spot and the opening attached to The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, we’ve only received short bursts of glimpses for the film. I’ll wager Paramount is saving a full trailer for G.I. Joe: Retaliation‘s release at the end of the month. Right now, we’ve got this, and I like it.
