La Danza de la Realidad, or The Dance of Reality, is a psudo-autobiographical take on the master director’s youth in Chile. The film was apparently birthed from Jodorowsky’s own existential searchings and insights. The trailer looks cerebral and fantastic and seems to have been harvested from the same dreamscape that lead to his earlier work, Santa Sangre. Currently the Jodorowsky family are at the Cannes Film Festival where La Danza de la Realidad will screen as part of the Director’s Fortnight lineup. Hopefully Pathé Films will bring this brilliant looking film to the states as soon as possible.
