I heap a lot of praise on Scream Factory, but they’re one of the few places that are doing Blu-Ray right. They doll up the classics, but they also tend to the lesser films and make sure they’re presentable for the 21st century. Currently receiving this treatment are two of George Romero’s lesser films: The Dark Half (based on Stephen King’s killer pseudonym novel) and Monkey Shines (which might feature the weirdest cunnilingus scene in monkey movie history).

While these releases won’t be Collector’s Editions, both will feature new commentaries and interviews, and some other goodies that I believe have been ported over from previous releases. The features are as follows:

  • Deleted Scenes
  • Animated Storyboards for the original ending
  • Behind-the-Scenes Footage – Special Effects and On the Set
  • Vintage Making of The Dark Half plus additional interview clips
