I know most of you will have already heard, but it wouldn’t feel right to not write something about it. Mike Nichols (director of The Graduate, Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, The Birdcage, Charlie Wilson’s War, and other lovely films) passed away last night at the age of 83. Nichols was a force for good in cinema and theater, and revisiting his impressive filmography will be a beautiful and bittersweet experience.

Goodbye, Mike, and thank you.
