With all those new Star Wars movies coming up, it’s easy to forget there’s also another Star Trek in the works. Simon Pegg and Doug Jung are still in early writing stages on that one. However, it appears a possible title has already been secured. As TrekMovie.com reports, the title Star Trek Beyond has just been registered with the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA). That doesn’t mean that it will be the final title to mock, but now there’s a chance for it. I guess I’m not the only one thinking it’d be a rather uninspiring choice.

Interestingly, there’s a StarTrekBeyond.com website available. At the moment it houses a TV series proposal by avid Star Trek fan Michael Chang Gummelt. The site is designed in cute The Next Generation style graphics and even has artworks for characters. He suggests Natalie Portman, Christina Hendricks and Jay Baruchel for roles. Wait, does it mean Paramount Pictures has bought his concept and ordered Pegg to adapt it into a new adventure for young Kirk and his crew? Well, that would certainly be an amazing day for Michael Gummelt, but it does seem a little unlikely.

Justin Lin (Fast & Furious Episodes III – VI) is set to direct. Pine, Quinto, Urban, Saldana, Yelchin and Cho will again be Kirk, Spock, Bones, Uhura, Chekov and Sulu respectively, and both Sofia Boutella (the wonderful blade lady from Kingsman: The Secret Service) and fan favorite Idris Elba are seemingly signed for exciting new roles.
