Forget momentous news drops. Forget trailer reveals. Forget the inevitable Ryan Reynolds-as-Deadpool extravaganza that is bound to occur this weekend in San Diego. This is my favorite thing about Comic-Con this year.

Every year, the convention is picketed by radical Christians. Why? I’m sure it has something to do with worshipping false idols or some other such nonsense (they probably wouldn’t like my Burgess Meredith shrine that I pray to and kiss every night before bed). Taking advantage of this fringe occurrence, the marketing team behind A&E’s upcoming TV reboot of The Omen (given the more marketable moniker of Damien) stood right next to the protesters with signs like this:

They’ve even gone the Method actor extra mile and handed out satirical pamphlets that promise that Damien will be the only salvation once the looming end of days commences.

I’m really glad that someone is getting the message of our Dark Lord out there. The other side has held a stranglehold over the conversation, and it’s high time that the Anti-Christ got a word in edgewise.

A new trailer for the show also dropped, and it looks like it’s going to be a somewhat remake of The Final Conflict (poor Sam Neill. Am I the only one who loves that movie?) by directly acknowledging the first film. I’m not going to get my hopes up, but I’m always willing to give the Father of Lies and his number one son a fair shake.
