Disney is saving their big Star Wars: The Force Awakens stuff (read: new trailer) for their upcoming D23 convention, but they did bring this pretty awesome behind-the-scenes video to Comic-Con:

I’ve been very positive when it comes to the seventh installment in the Star Wars franchise, but it’s been a positivity born of an objective nature. Primarily, I’ve been impressed with the physicality of the new film and its return to a less cluttered frame (from what we’ve seen). While this video certainly emphasizes those elements, this is the first thing from Disney that tapped into the child sector of my brain. Something about the music, the enthusiasm of the younger actors (and Mark Hamill. I love that man), Simon Pegg’s boyhood dream come true, seeing all of the goofy aliens and just the jovial spirit that this promo features has finally caused me to cave in to my juvenile sensibilities.

That’s a long-winded way of saying that this made me feel like a kid again.

I don’t know if Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be good. I’m certainly not prejudging the film based on the great marketing and mood its shown us so far. It could still turn out to be a bummer, but if the film actually does what this promo did to me on a grander and more cinematic scale, we could be in for something truly special.

With all that said, never forget 5/19/99:
