The movie that proved Nicole Kidman could finally be taken seriously as a nuclear specialist is finally coming to Blu-ray.

The Peacemaker, DreamWorks Studios first major release, will debut on Blu-Ray September 21, 2010. The film stars George Clooney as a Special Forces Colonel and Kidman as a “brilliant U.S. nuclear specialist” searching for stolen atomic warheads in the former Soviet Union. “Putting aside their personal differences – and budding romance – the two begin a tumultuous partnership as they track down the stolen weapons, following a deadly trail of espionage and intrigue that culminates in an unauthorized air assault inside Russian territory.  Now, it’s a race against time to uncover the last missing warhead…before it’s too late.

The Blu-ray release will include a 1080p high definition picture, English 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio and 5.1 Dolby Digital in most other languages. The only extra features are Stunt Footage, a “From the Cutting Room Floor…” featurette and the Theatrical Trailer (HD). SRP is $24.99.

This should tide everyone over until the highly anticipated Blu-Ray release of Tara Reid’s turn as a “brilliant archaeologist” in the 2005 hit film Alone in the Dark.
