We recently reported how The Thing was bumped off of its April 2011 release date by Universal, who gave it to Fast Five (still can’t believe that’s the actual title) instead and is now doing some reshoots, but now they’ve got a solid release locked down. As Jeremy predicted, it’s hitting in October to capitalize on our first Saw-free Halloween in eight years.
According to Universal Pictures’ twitter account- “Get ready…THE THING will be released on Friday, October 14, 2011!”
It’s certainly a better time for the film (the original released in summer, and look how well that worked out for them), but this also means that you might have to wait longer to see that excellent teaser trailer that they premiered at the NY Comic Con.
