From the mind behind the mega-hit Syfy show you’ve probably never heard of (EUREKA) comes a tribute to all those no-budget Syfy original movies and the “so bad, they’re good” films that inspired them. Move over Roger Corman, step back Ed Wood, make way on your weekend programming schedule Mr. Stern, because here comes Andrew Cosby’s 365 DAYS OF SCI-FI.

And it’s all happening here! Each day, your friends at CHUD will bring you a brand new bad movie pitch — the best of the worst title Cosby can come up with, no matter where he’s at or what he’s doing, rain or shine, drunk or sober. That’s a whole year of the quality concepts you’ve come to expect from the network that brought you MANSQUITO and SHARKTOPUS.

And now… DAY FIFTY:

“Back to basics today with another batch of animals gone weird.  And I think I’ll take this opportunity to coin a new term for this particular sub(par)genre – ‘exotic aquatic.’  Has a nice ring to it, don’t you think?”

– Andy Cosby (Twitter)

“You’re going to need a bigger boat.”

Pitch:

Infected by a batch of bad shrimp, a small coastal town suddenly finds itself besieged by a viral outbreak that transforms its residents into a ravenous horde of flesh-eating zombies. Amidst the ensuing chaos, a young fisherman and his crew fight for survival in a desperate bid to make it back to their boat and the relative safety of open waters. Unfortunately, once at sea they quickly discover that humans weren’t the only ones infected by the tainted prawns. Now, they find themselves battling all manner of undead marine life, including a school of mutated, man-eating tuna that are all too happy to be on this end of the food chain.

Nick Says: One of my favorites and that rare zombie concept I can totally get behind. I think Lea Thomson is really good stunt casting as the seediest fisherman on the island.
