You can bet New Line will do as much as possible to present and format the new Hobbit films to maximize on Lord of the Rings nostalgia, and one of those subtle elements will be a nice overall title with sub-headings that matches the LOTR arrangement. Say for example, The Hobbit: There And Back Again and The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey…?

That’s what TheOneRing.net is surmising just that from the registration of both of those titles by New Line, and is probably a pretty safe bet for anyone guessing. The registration was spotted by a reader/source of the famous LOTR site.

I’m still curious about how much of The Hobbit novel is stretched across two films, if any, and if the second film will be 50/50 or an entirely new addendum. The idea of a “bridge film” points to the latter, as does this title arrangement, but Jackson rearranged events and narrative structure in the original trilogy, so it’s still up in the air what will shake out this time.

What do you think of this title arrangement? Got any better ideas they should have used? Let us know in the comments or…
