April 21

Film/TV: A crushing Braves loss after an amazing 9th inning comeback. The 12th episode of Justified, which was disappointing. First two episodes of The Killing.

Music: Since Saturday is “catch up on the vocals with Steve” day, I boned up on the outstanding material. Goal is to have Laker IIIThe Cave Under Kickass Hill completely finished. If you aren’t privy, here’s the entire Killing Swarm discography:

The Killing Swarm

Comedy: A little Steven Wright, because I can.

Food/Drink/Inhalents: Allagash. Chinese grub. Coffee. A little pulled turkey. Fried shrimp after the game. A Drew Estate’s Tabak (Connecticut Shade).

Family: I played with the miniature gentleman for quite some time after picking him up from day care. He LOVES baseball. And watching him squeal with delight as he runs around the house with bat and ball is one of the joys of life.

Friends: Had a smoke and worked with the workfolk over at Cigar Studio 57, and then had a postgame late dinner with the Punishers.

Work: A decent amount, but frankly my main focus was in either dealing with personnel issues or trying to figure out how to generate site revenue. It’s a shitty time. That said, we had a lot fo fun shooting the footage for the video wrap up.

Art: Nope.

Goodies: No gifts for me.

Screenwriting: Some.

Projects: No.

Minutia: The lady at the day care followed me to my car and had me show I.D., which I am fine with. I must look even more like a shitball than I think I do.

Activity: Played first base for an inning with the Punishers, batting clean-up like a gentleman (which ironically is what my name is on the back of my jersey). Our pitcher got a little frazzled arguing balls and strikes and then after walking five straight guys. I stepped in and pitched. I walked one and then settled in. I ended up pitching a fantastic six innings and even making a few nice plays along the way. Oh, and I went 4-4 at the plate with 2 triples, two doubles, and a walk. That is how a man makes it happen.

Ailments: Considering the week, surprisingly spry.

Shrink’s Chair: Unfortunately for everyone else that works for me in the future (which many not be many if the ad market doesn’t improve) I am simply not going to kill myself to make everything copacetic. I have done so much for folks and though some folks are amazing and understand/appreciate what I’ve had to do… some select ones have most certainly not and it makes me furious. Just not worth it.

Asshole(s) of the Day: You know who you are.

True Trivia: I sometimes get pissed off when I see people much older than me who still have their father.

What Did I Learn Today: People are loyal right up to the point where they have nothing else to gain from you.

Link of the Day: Scratch Track. A fun offbeat little hybrid band.

Looking ahead to tomorrow: Work. Golf. Relaxation.
