April 25

Film/TV: A Braves game that lasted forever and ended poorly after two boneheaded plays late in the game. Still, was an intense game. Caught up with The Killing. OK show. Nothing special.

Music: I enjoyed our new stuff. Someone has to.

Comedy: Nada.

Food/Drink/Inhalents: Andrea was kind enough to deliver a nice chicken salad to my face from La Parilla (home of miscommunication over the phone lines). I then had some cavatelli that came from my favorite deli, which I made with some imported locatelli cheese (from the same deli). I enjoyed these in the wee hours while the Braves played for eternity. It was accompanied by Amaretto. And I fired up the Hookah. I make a shitty Hookah.

Family: The family was present during the evening but I steered clear as to keep my dick day from infiltrating theirs.

Friends: The office bumpkins, but thy were of no help.

Work: It was a horrible day. Horrible. Horrible. I had it coming from every direction and because no one really knows or understands the breadth let me just say that it was the worst day of the year on many levels.

Art: Nope.

Goodies: No, but plenty of baddies.

Screenwriting: No.

Projects: No.

Minutia: DirectTV needs to really update the functionality of their menus and navigation. It’s been years and it’s always been the clunkiest of the clunky.

Activity: No, but I’d had liked to go spar with someone in the garage like the old days. Funnily enough, we’ve been cleaning the garage and I found a spider’s nest inside my boxing gloves. Which is creepy and evidence how lame I am at keeping up with them.

Ailments: Nothing physical, but way mental.

Shrink’s Chair: I cannot understand how I’ll have a great therapeutic conversation with someone and then they’ll appear out of nowhere and backstab. It’s certainly got to be some sort of imbalance, no?

Asshole(s) of the Day: I refuse to answer the question on the grounds that it may incriminate… or rather validate me.

True Trivia: My mother broke a wooden spoon hitting me once. I was older, and I laughed my ass off, but there was a time when I really feared that thing.

What Did I Learn Today: Keep your friends pretty far away and your enemies even further.

Link of the Day: Miken. Pretty great bat manufacturer. I don’t understand why these aren’t good enough for people. Folks still buy shaved bats off the internet so they can hit giant bombs. It’s cheating!

Looking ahead to tomorrow: Kiddo and more.
