I’m perpetually mind-blocked, so I searched for things to write about online and I came across the 30 Day Writing Challenge and the 30 Day Song Challenge. I decided to combine them and give them a go, with some disregard to their rules. So for the next 30 days I’ll torture you with my stupid answer to these interesting writing prompts.

Writing Challenge – Day 2: Something you regret not having done last year.
Not getting a stable job. Ha! Gods, kill me…

Seriously, I regret not being able to participate in a 30 week fiction writing workshop. John Kessel was the workshop advisor. I enrolled but had to quit right before it started for a number of reasons I’d rather not discuss. And if the workshop runs again this year, I might not be able to participate either.

Overthinking kept me from completing last year’s Nanowrimo and Script Frenzy. I have a psycho bitch for an inner critic. Every time I have an idea the bitch comes to the surface, I become convinced that my idea sucks, and I end up not writing. MUST. KILL. THE. BITCH.

Also regret not getting back into martial arts. I looked for Kendo and Ninjutsu. I found I good local academy where I could study both, but didn’t have the guts to enrol. The shame…

And my perpetual regret: I don’t see as many movies or read as many books as I’d like to, particularly not last year. With books, if I make it past the first 20% of a book, I won’t stop until my head hurts. I’m even worst with video games. I get too focused on the missions and forget about everything else. So I have to pace myself to the point of not reading enough and not playing enough. As for not seeing enough movies, unfortunately South America doesn’t get enough movies in theatres or gets them too late. And last year was an unfortunate year; not enough good stuff came to my side of the world.

Song Challenge – Day 2: Your least favourite song.
How about a least favourite genre? As the very unpatriotic Colombian that I am, there are many ways in which I don’t identify with the Latin culture. For instance, I hate reggaeton. Actually, hate can’t quite encompass what I feel about reggaeton. I don’t even acknowledge it as music, which means shit, because millions of Latinos around the world adore it. Good for them, hope they enjoy it, but keep it away from me.  But here’s a clip anyway:
