It’s official- Beavis and Butt-head is back.
MTV recently confirmed that they’re bringing brand-new episodes of the show back to air starting this summer, and we now have the first proof.
Not sure how many of you have watched Beavis and Butt-head in the 14 years it’s been off the air, but the show holds up remarkably. It was always a smarter show than people gave it credit for, that perfect blend of satire and slapstick humor.
MTV premiered this four minute clip from an episode entitled Holy Cornholio at Comic Con today. Mike Judge is back writing, directing and voicing these characters, and you have to love that they have not improved the animation style one bit. It’s also great to think about them doing their commentary on current music videos- and single-handedly bringing back music to MTV.

I was completely skeptical, but after laughing consistently through that entire Jersey Shore commentary, I’m in.

I laughed at this a lot more than I expected. Feels more like a lost episode than a new one; the tone is exactly the same. Wish Ren and Stimpy had come back like this.
I did the Beavis and Butthead laugh the other day at work and no-one knew what it was I was doing. Tsk.
ANYTHING that brings music back to MTV (cos y;know it IS what the ‘M’ stands for) is all good by me.
If B&B aged in real-time, they’d be in their 30s by now!
Honestly, that’s awesome. I was “too good” for Beavis & Butthead when they were first on. My friends told me about them, but I also heard how juvenline and such they were, so I was pretty much “Whatever, guys, I’m not watching that.” Then one night I did, and realized I was a hypocrite – I watched all of their episodes after that. So to see them coming back, and particularly in the original crude animation style is fantastic.
And as others have stated, it’s cool that they’re actually making fun of modern MTV trash, too. B&B, thanks for cming back. Actually, thank you Mike Judge for bring them back.
Btw, did anyone here play the Beavis & Butthead PC game that came out a long time ago? It was actually surprisingly good.
