Tee hee–When I saw the blurb about your choice having a lot of raw language, I immediately thought “Deadwood”! Glad I’d already decided not to join in the rewatch. I became bored with Deadwood midway through Season 1, gave up on it after a few episodes of Season 2.

I don’t know what this says about me… I’m a woman. And the first thing that turned me off Deadwood was that it had begun focusing too heavily–in my opinion–on women!

I do hope you’ll give us that final post about Carnivale soon…

Fuckin’ A!!!! This is my favorite series of all time. I watch all three seasons at least once a year and never fail to find something new each time. To say this show rewards upon multiple viewings is an understatement. I almost envy you getting to go into season 3 a virgin. Brian Cox is amazing and the chemistry between he and Ian McShane is so much fun. I can’t wait to read your take and see what other people think. This is one of the best shows to have ever graced any screen be it larger small.

Eh… wish I could get excited about this one. I think HBO shows tend to be overrated, personally… the first couple seasons of “The Sopranos” were good, and of course “Carnivale” is a masterpiece, but other than that, I think critics have gotten way too fond of immediately declaring anything on premium cable to be great literature. There are people who still consider “True Blood” to be great TV, for gosh sakes.

Plus, it just doesn’t feel like Deadwood has been gone that long (maybe because my sister just watched through it recently). Oh well… can’t win ‘em all, I guess. Think I’ll skip this one.

Good sir, fine choice. I’ve just recently watched the third season myself (after watching the first two back-to-back years ago). It is amazing.
