A few days ago, Rockstar revealed that Max Payne 3 would be coming March 2012. Today, Rockstar has released the debut trailer for this long-delayed next (and final?) installment featuring one of the greatest characters in gaming history.
What’s funny is how James McCaffrey’s (the dead cousin of Tommy Gavin, Jimmy Keefe, in Rescue Me) resemblance comes through in this one. He has always been the voice of Max but seeing him being a little more front and center and possibly even doing mo-cap (which is not rare these days in gaming) is a great thing.
What we see in the trailer looks pretty damn good, and here’s hoping March 2012 is as solid as can be for reacquainting us with Max. It’s been too long, old friend.

Big fan of the first 2 games. I hope this can come close to those.
I never played the second one, but I heard it was terrible. Did I hear wrong?
Yes. It’s fantastic. The first is probably still my favorite, but there’s tons to love in the second. Might be a little better story-wise, as well. Then again it’s been years since I played them.
As far as I’ve experienced, R* always delivers epic single player campaigns but if the multilayer mode in this one is as fun as the one they designed for Red Dead Redemption, this game is going to be huge.
I find it kind of sad that there seems to be people who don’t understand that Noir doesn’t have to take place in NYC for it to work.
Looks like Max has gone full Heisenberg.
