Jon and Al Kaplan have made a number of musical parodies of famous films (including a wonderfully in-poor-taste Schindler’s List take), but I have a feeling they’ve hit an all-time high with musical interpretation of The Thing, which has the titular creature crooning about his exploits in Outpost 31.
It wouldn’t be so funny if it weren’t for such damn fine Sinatra-esque singing by collaborator Nick Amado, from lyrics and music by the Kaplan bros. The accompanying video is edited quite nicely as well, with a particularly fine finish as the creature holds its final note.
Thanks to Paul Allen and Joseph P. Brenner for sharing this on the boards. Since The Thing is probably the film most repeatedly cited as being among Chewers favorites, I figured this was well worth sharing. Enjoy!

Not to bag on Joseph (love your work on the Breaking Bad thread especially) but I think Paul Allen posted it first in JC’s The Thing Thread.
But whatever – it’s amazing!
Kind of changes the whole concept of “Strangers in the Night”… Fing great!
A thing of true beauty. Ba-dum-tish.
