That there is the kind of throw-away plot point that really chills my coffee: if there are “no more animals”, then why are there humans? HOW are there humans? And then later they say there are still dogs and cats? I take this as good evidence that this movie is as balls-out stupid as I assumed when I saw the (very, very few) ads for it and asked myself, “What the f*** story did THEY read?!?” (“A Sound of Thunder” being one of my favorite sci-fi short stories from high school. Yeah, the whole concept of Time Safari Inc. is kind of corny but it made sense at the time and is basically just used as a setup for the finale. Which, incidentally, involves nothing even remotely similar to monsters suddenly appearing in a city.)

Excellent read, the spiral cut ham reference was the winner. Factual nitpic from a Chicago resident, there are several stretches of the CTA that are underground, so they at least got THAT right.

It’s a shame that Bradbury’s stories haven’t had a good history of being adapted to screen so far. There’s some terrific potential in them, especially in this day and age when Tinsel Town is choosing to adapt less risky “brand names” like PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN and BATTLESHIP.

It more than certainly would. Two challenges: There’s many Aston Kutcher qualifying titles to choose from, and I’d want to space out similar themes like this. It probably is going to happen however; that thing is a crock.
