FULL NOMINATION COVERAGE RIGHT HERE

Embedded above is a YouTube player for the livestream of the announcement of the Oscar nominations, which I discussed a bit earlier today. If you care to watch and find out what films are in the running (and how many Best Picture nods there ends up being) first hand, mark this page and return at 5:30am PST / 8:30am EST tomorrow. I’ll be doing live-commentary if everything works out okay, as well as posting a general Oscar primer tomorrow or the next day, so be on the lookout for those.

Alright, gonna cinch it here and move on to a new article with the full list, and some commentary on each category…. Look for that in just a little while. Thanks to anyone who actually refreshed with me this morning.

8:56: Tech stuff coming..

8:54: Still shocked Incredibly Bullshit managed a nod. Max Von Sydow deserves it, but even his performance is tainted by the artificial, affected bullshit forced onto it by the fake fake script.

8:51: Tintin snub is kind of ridiculous, though I know many will be pleased Rango made it on there. Feels like it’s been a while since Pixar didn’t make that list.

8:48: Wholly unremarkable year really, but 9 contenders for Best Picture, with them even managing to slide in a pandering pile of dooky that would be the Forrest Gumpy pandering populist pick were anybody actually going out to see that movie. Phenomenon it won’t be. Bridesmaids would have been a bigger ratings draw.

8:46: Alright well, lets dig in… Baffled that there’s not Swinton nod, not shocked at all to see no Albert Brooks,

8:45: Well, didn’t realize it would be such a brief affair. They dragged Jenny Lawrence out of her nutrient-rich cryo-sleep for this?

8:43: Thanks Empire twitter feed…

Best Supporting Actor: Kenneth Branagh, Jonah Hill, Nick Nolte, Christopher Plummer, Max Von Sydow.

8:42: There’s Bullhead, and a couple Tinker, Tailor nods… Good shit

8:41: Damn, they’re booking too fast for me to keep up! Definitely some upsets already though…

8:40am:

Best Supporting Actress: Berenice Bejo, Jessica Chastain, Melissa McCarthy, Janet McTeer, Octavia Spencer.

8:39am: Starting! Guess they got the blue, glowing telelpods to work…

8:37am: Still haven’t started. I have no idea how long this usually runs. If this takes more than 30 minutes, I’m going to send in the Clock King to speed shit up. THAT’S a villain Nolan should have considered… (Guy just said “1 minute to air.”)

8:34am: YouTube is working! With sounds! You can almost hear everyone in the being dry and/or flaccid.

8:32am: There’s a white man on stage whitin’. Now he’s gone...

8:30am: YouTube appears to be being a dildo (at least for me). This CNN link may work too, though I’m getting no sound. http://www.cnn.com/video/#/video/cvplive/cvpstream1

8:28am: ALRIGHT FOLKS, HERE WE GO… T-Minus A minute and a half…
