Schwarzenegger and Stallone. For years, every action fan has wanted to see them team up in a film. We ALMOST got that in Face/Off, before Travolta and Cage took it over and gave us a masterpiece where they chewed all the scenery up. We sort of got that with the cameo of Schwarzenegger in The Expendables, and it does look like this time Arnold is getting in on the action in The Expendables 2.
Now there’s word that Schwarzenegger is finally teaming up with Stallone for The Tomb. I brought this news a few months ago that this was going to be Stallone’s follow up to The Expendables 2.
Here’s the info.
Schwarzenegger will play Church, a prison inmate who fights to keep other prisoners from losing their humanity. Stallone plays Ray Breslin, the world’s foremost expert on security — who, framed for a murder he didn’t commit — has to escape from a prison he designed.
There had been a rumor that they were courting another action star for it, and now we’ve got Schwarzenegger in it. I was already going to see it, now this is just an added incentive. Let’s just hope it doesn’t end up PG-13.

Wait… Face/Off was a masterpiece?!
Yes.
Stallone playing someone with expert brains who can design things is laughable.
Says the guy who didn’t write Rocky or get multiple Oscar nominations for his work.
Shaun FTW.
“If I can change…and you can change…maybe we can all change.”
Did you end the cold war, garageman? I didn’t think.
I didn’t think so.
Damnit.
and what does that have to do with the on-screen persona of an actor? When has Stallone ever played someone who’s not a Joe Six-Pack or a beaten down schlub and done it well?
Most anticipated movie of the decade right here folks.
Indeed. But which decade?
The 80s, the decade that is forever.
Gotta say there is a touch of genius to the way Stallone keeps rolling along. Exploiting the pop cultural irony of this sort of mash-up casting and turning into a new sub genre and a new career path.
All of them.
Face/Off is a masterpiece. Mad Travolta and Mad Cage in the same movie. How is that not WIN?
Rene F. Rangel, So is this a…2013 release? I…Second the love for the genius of…Face-Off! I was happy that John was able to…WOO, Travolta and CAGEy Nic, to…OFF-FACE, and become each other!
duke fleed, I came VERY close to referring to him as CAGEy Nic in the article!
Sounds like Prison Break.
Probably more of the same cheese. Look at this photo…http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-2098595/Arnold-Schwarzenegger-Sylvester-Stallone-bump-hospital.html
I don’t think you’d look too hot either after getting thrashed about on two separate movie productions simultaneously.
About twenty years too late. (as he logs on to Fandango to see if tickets are available yet)
