Found out about this movie recently and despite the negative review, I still might give it a twirl for Ironside. I'm curious to read your thoughts on Chan-wook Park's I'm a Cyborg, but That's Ok or Beat Kitano's Outrage. Are either worth watching?

In this movie’s defense, when you open up with Michael Ironside in drag stalking someone by way of dumwaiter, you’ve pretty much got nowhere to go but down. Gotta save that sort of thing for the climax (or just call back to it, a la Nighthawks).

If you haven’t seen The Burning yet I recommend that one. As far as 80s knockoff-of-a-knockoff slashers go, it’s actually pretty solid (and Netflix actually has the uncut version of the film, which is good of them). The Rum Diary I’d also be interested in hearing your thoughts on, as I found that movie pretty lacking. Just remember when you go in, it’s not Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (and, to its credit, never really tries to be).

I hate doing this, but there is a version if you do some searching online that is available that clocks in at 1:37, the version on Netflix is 1:24.

Lenore Zann was also the schoolgirl that Maury Chaykin had locked in his cellar in Def-Con 4. She was pretty skanky then too.
Have you seen The Man From Nowhere? It’s like a South Korean Taken, but even better than that sounds.

Ha. I remember seeing the box for this movie at the video store back when the only place in town you could rent videos was at a local furniture store (this was when VCRs were still steam-powered). Glad to hear that I didn't miss anything. Also, The Rum Diary has been on my "to watch" list for a while.
