I did enjoy the final climax though, even though it was over done. I wasn't lined up to do a MOD column this week, and stepped in for someone just because I enjoyed this that much. I thought it might be nice to give some exposure to this overlooked and poorly marketed film (I don't like the bland poster) that I almost passed up. Glad you enjoyed it.

Overall I quite enjoyed it. I thought it got a little too silly at the end when it actually began taking cues from the Home Alone films. My problem with the sound was that it made the film feel cheaper than it had to with it’s overuse of stock sound effects, some of which just didn’t suit the environment they were in. And it grated on my nerves that every time the camera made a sudden jerk it would be accompanied by a poor “woosh” sound. But these criticisms weren’t deal breakers for me. Just niggles on an otherwise quite enjoyably nasty little thriller.

I didn't notice it the sound. I have to admit I watched it with the volume somewhat low, as I had a sleeping infant. I know that the at the beginning there were sound flaws that just added to the slow start. Nowadays, so many films attempt to grab you at the beginning, and this one just did not connect on the first action beat. Once past that though, I really enjoyed. Let me know your final thoughts.

I’m enjoying it so far. It’s a brutal and nasty little film that does well with its neat R Rated Home Alone concept and has a great performance from the kid. But the sound design is fucking atrocious and keeps taking me out of the film.
