An essential film. All I could say about it has been encapsulated by Dellamorte and Schwartz.
Love this movie, it's great fun, but still creepy.
Enh, a firing squad isn't necessarily a worse way to die than lethal injection, or hanging, either. It's pretty subjective. And getting shot to death at least has a theatrical quality about it, I guess. EDIT: Not that I'm pro-death...
