I just saw both of these recently. I enjoyed watching Troll 2 much more than the first one, but I can understand why you'd want more Troll. It would be nice to see more of Julia-Louis Dreyfus's ass.

Honestly I haven't seen Troll in ages, but it scared the shit out of me as a kid...so I figured it was more effective. Hell, even the VHS case freaked me out (and of course I always checked it out when I'd sneak over to the horror section when my dad wasn't looking) .

Although now that I think about it, a big budget Troll 2 done "right" could be the funniest thing to ever exist.

I'd be interested if they can do it and keep the lead character's name. I suspect someone named "Harry Potter" pulled into a magical realm might bring up some interesting legal arguments.

I was just going to respond with the same question/concern. Considering Troll came first and set the precedent, I'd say Rowling doesn't have a Muggle to stand on (but she does have enough $ to hire every lawyer in the UK). But there's really enough differences in the details (besides the kid's name) where there shouldn't be any issues I'd think.

To tell you the truth, I'm surprised Charles Band hasn't sued already.

I loved this dumb/creepy flick (and love/hate it's unbearable sequel)...

The creepy song from the original.

Troll 1 Intro

Troll 1 Torok's First Victim (Sonny Bono!)

Troll 1 Torok's Plot

Troll 1 Podlings

Troll 1 Welcome Brother Elf

Troll 1 Wendy Gets Captured

WTF... Troll 1 Blue Cheer

Troll - Julia Louis-Dreyfus (Seinfeld's Elaine!)

Yes but they should get rid of the Harry Potter name and rename him and his family's last name something else, afterall you gotta remake a bad movie and make it better. Or maybe a Leprechaun vs. Troll movie would be nice.

Wow I thought I was the only kid who was deathly afraid of Troll- to the extent of freaking out at Ernest Scared Stupid of all things. Well, I was 5 at the time. Damn that box haunted me. I hope Fondacaro's got a role in this somewhere; guy's probably the most overlooked great dwarf actor around, and no one could fill his shoes. Because they're small.

That you just can't improve on perfection.

I love the "late-breaking news" tone of the recent article, by the way.
