For no good reason except that I don't want to start a new thread......

Worst teaser poster ever.

Hardly. I rather liked the simplicity of it, myself.

Great examples. And by great examples I mean these suck shit...in a "through a small straw" aesthetic sense.

Hot Rod gets a pass because it's actually really funny.

Plus, I actually like that poster. Yes, it's the red letters on white background, but the heroic image in the circle above is a nice touch. It's not pictures of the actors being wacky, like Wedding Crashers.

It definitely has it's moments.

These posters work though. It's pretty easy for the young couple on a date in the multiplex to discern what they are getting into with posters like that.

There are obviously templates out there in marketing world. Check out the original poster for Parenthood. (I'm at work so i can't get a link) but it is the exact same as the poster for Problem Child. Funny how they do that thing they do.

Maybe people can turn this thread into another posters thread that takes serious movies and applies the red comedy font to them.

Would get old pretty quickly. Hahaha.

Compared to the previous examples on this thread, that one comes across a bit more modest.

Also, they kinda went crazy with photoshop on Rudd's smile and Segel's stomach.

Look, Randy Quaid ain't got no shirt on.

Well, clearly the French don't know comedy.
Blue? What the hell?!

This trailer definitely fits the bill, with red comedy fonts all over the place. It's probably a kind of King in Yellow situation, though, in that viewing it will likely cause physical harm.

That's my favorite part of that horrible image. It's as if the marketing people thought that the public didn't know what Murray looked like by that point, and that clearing up his complexion would help sell DVD's.

And the compositing is unbelievably awful. It's just bad work all around.

Look at his meaty Getty Images hands. Ugghh.

"Two hours of laughter"...As in a film that is just 2 hrs of people laughing?

Now these guys are ahead of the curve. Amongst all those red font titles, whats going to stick out? Thats right, a green font title.(good film)

I wouldn't be suprised to see "I love you Philip Morris" released in red font with a dodgy photo-shopped image of Carrey and McGregor holding hands and wearing old-school convict uniforms. Maybe they'll be really "imaginative" and have one of them holding some fudge.

The red comedy font gets a name-drop in this anti-trajan tirade:

Wow. That makes me not want to see the movie.

That WORLD'S GREATEST DAD poster is a huge bucket of shit. If they're trying for ironic they missed.
I'm kind of thrilled that's the poster.
(rubs hands together) Perhaps if I took it to photoshop...

On second thought, I withdraw my previous remarks about irony. It'll draw in unsuspecting victims who get drawn to Red Comedy Font and Robin Williams like moths to a bug zapper. People will just see red block lettering and a bunch of words, too many for their tiny minds to bother with, that mean someone important liked it. Then, hopefully, the film scars them for life.

I appreciate it if they're looking to fuck with halfwits - but I still don't like the poster.

Trajan is the Movie Font

Red comedy fonts and floating heads get a shout out as well...
