Compared to any other ones you also dislike, what 1 or 2 (live action or animated) film franchises do you currently regard as the most overrated
one/s and please say why, for each one mentioned.

I hated "Shrek". So naturally, I wish they're quit churning them out.

I thought I was the only one who hated 'Shrek'. Thank you for restoring my faith in humanity.

Shrek is awful.
Pirates became really bad.

I am no fan of The Chronicles of Narnia. All the Christian kids I know adored the first film while I thought it was terribly mediocre. Now everyone is looking forward to the next one and I couldn't care less.

Also, Rush Hour. Hate Chris Tucker. Or, as he writes it, Christ Ucker.

I agree with all of these, but the prospect of two more Shrek films fills me with hate. I'll still stand by the first one as having some warmth and laughs, but the second was resolutely unfunny and the newest one looks painful. I will likely NEVER put myself through it.

Nah, there's Shrek-hate all over this site.

I have a real tough time wrapping my brain around why people love the Saw films so damn much. Ditto on the Shrek hate.

I watched the first "Saw" recently, as I'm not a horror film guy and wondered if I was actually missing something great. No, I wasn't. I guess horror films don't necessarily need a whole lot of meat to be successful, but I was surprised that such a mediocre movie keeps spawning profitable, anticipated sequels.

And while I've given the first three Harry Potter films a good-hearted try, I can't quite understand why they've entranced so many adults.

I'm throwing my hat in for Pirates. I saw the original on DVD and thought it was a fun flick, but it was also the type of instantly forgettable film that I never had a desire to watch again. I don't understand how the hell it became such a big franchise, especially with the awful reviews for the sequels.

Wow. Market researchers who don't even attempt to disguise what they are.

Seriously, how much do they pay you guys when you're this bad at your job?

SAW
Shrek
Pirates

SAW is garbage. The first film is MST3K-style bad. Karey Elwes was awful.

Shrek is poop and is not funny, didn't both the with second or third one.

The first Pirates was tedious and boring for me. ALL too long, instantly forgettable pap. Kyra Knightly was a bitch, Bore-Lando Doom put me to sleep and Depp's Keith Richards impression was not all that funny. Didn't bother with the second or third one.

I couldn't imagine how awful the Rush Hours are because of the evil monster known as Chris Tucker. Thankfully, I've never seen more than a few minutes of them, but Tucker's antics are like nails on the chalkboard. Not only is his schtick not funny, but comes off a little stereotypical and racist.

Hate Shrek. Unfunny.
Hate Potter. Repetetive.
Hate Pirates. Based on a fucking ride, for crying out loud.

Death Surge hits the nail squarely on the head.
Why are the rest of you giving him the time of day?

Ultra-5, kindly fuck off and die.
(...and to echo Surge, you are ridiculously bad at your job.)

Hey, if it gets them to stop making Shrek films, I'm all for it.

I saw the first Shrek in theaters willingly and thought it stunk, aside from two or three chuckles.

I was forced to see Shrek 2 and have yet to forgive my "friends". Seriously, it's a shit movie. The only worthwhile scenes were with the Gingerbread Man and his clan. The rest was horribly unfunny and tired.

I opted NOT to see Shrek the Third, thank you.

So, one vote from me for THAT "trilogy"...

I saw the first Saw and didn't find myself that impressed. Haven't seen any of the other flicks and don't have any plans to, either.
