Alien Versus Predator 2 News

It's been some time since the release of that teaser image of the new sequel. Does anyone know what's going on with this film? I'm an ALIEN purist and really don't care too much for these reincarnations of such classic characters, but I always have a hope that there will be one last film to tie together Ripley's story.
There has been no news, except that they changed the title to Aliens vs. Predator.
I just hope they went back-to-basics with the Predator look and dropped that godawful "quarterback chassis" look they had in AvP. Also, the new design for their mouths was ASS.

the guys at Amalgamated Dynamics really fucked up the ALIEN design as well. After Alien Resurrection, the design for the creature just took on this plastic appearance, losing the menace of the original H.R. Giger design. I actually think that Paul Anderson, who directed the first AVP film really brought the look of the ALIEN back to what it should be.
Too bad it was wasted in that flaming piece of shit known as AVP.

Amalgamated Dynamics did the xenomorphs... where? AvP 2?

I liked their insect-y look in Alien: Resurrection.
I think most of the movies did pretty damn well handling the sfx. That being said I'll admit i kind of agree with the plasticky look of some of the xenomorphs.

Has some suitbrain decided that AvP was some sort of retarded series reboot? If yes, then it was, then that's...retarded.

The first one was called Alien vs. Predator and AvP only for promotional purposes.

The sequel is called... Aliens vs. Predator.

I'm guessing the big finale is Aliens vs. Predators with a free-for-all, yes?
I guess they're just trying to tie into Aliens by giving AvP that oh-so-subtle sequel title. However, it actually makes no sense at all. The original Aliens was titled as such because it was a sequel to Alien, but this time they promised a whole buttload of xenomorphs instead of the lone creature from the first movie. In this case, however, AvP already had tons of xenomorphs and Predators and...I think I just confused myself.

Also, how are they going to explain the switch over from the smooth-headed look in the first AvP to the insect/armor look (seen only in Aliens) in the new one?
I was under the impression that the smooth headed look was for young aliens, while the jagged look was for older creatures.

I'd never heard that explanation before. Did you get that from something like behind the scenes material or a book? I always just thought it was something Cameron wanted for his take on the aliens with no regard to continuity, hence no other film had used it.
The news on the "Alien vs. Predator 2" front is as follows: I wouldn't see it if it meant we'd win the war on terror.

Nah, it'll be called something like Aliens vs Predators on a Plane.

Aliens vs Predators vs Terimators vs Robocops vs Ghoulies vs Gremlins vs Ewoks vs Critters vs The Garbage Pail Kids vs Batman vs Superman: World's Finest.
Make it happen, Hollywood.

Has anyone seen the new Direct TV ads featuring an updated Sigourney Weaver in her powerloader? It's quite a unique little stunt, and as I watched the commercial I only longed for a last installment of the ALIEN series featuring Ripley.

Holy crap, that was really well done.

I was at a sports bar when I first saw this commercial and wondered why on earth they were showing Aliens in there. Then I saw the DirecTV logo and it hit me. It's pretty well done.

Shatner did a great one with Star Trek 6.

It was fine, but they did... something to his face. Made it look younger? I dunno, it made him look weird.

What he was saying was pretty good.

Gremlins vs Critters vs Ghoulies

I would pay to see this. Honestly.

But I must digress , AvP 2 is something I would see . Even though I really hated the first one. Seeing the Aliens on the big screen is something I can't pass on.

It's August Fucking 17th, where's the news on this sequel?

It's seems you're the only one who gives a fuck about his future piece of trash.

God,was'nt the first AVP bad enough to scare people off from the sequel?
The gullibility of the fanboys is a never ending source of amazement to me.
A no name cast, not one but 2 directors neither of which has ever directed a film before, a script we know is lousy and stupid from it's being leaked on the Internet, and yet a few fools are still excited over this.
You can't blame people for holding Geekdom in contempt with crap like this commonplace.
Don't forget that the studio is dumping it. It's out in four months and there are no trailers or posters or even publicity stills.

Interview with AVP 2 Directors

God, this still sounds bad...

It's time to do the Monster Mash on Christmas Day when Aliens vs Predator: Requiem Arrives in theaters. I will wait one more day to see this as Christmas and other major holidays are not days I go to a film.

I'm not soo much excited about this as I am always interested in the various incarnations that the ALIEN takes form on screen. I still hold out hope that Ripley will show her face one last time and call the ALIEN series a day.

It's ridiculous but one can hope.
You mean besides the Direct TV commercial?

Anyway, I'll hope along with ya, J.M.

Love,

K.M.

I just want to see someone's skull get ruined by an Alien.
All I want to see is a praying mantis alien, like the toy I had in the '90s. How a facehugger ever impragnated a praying mantis is beyond me, but damn does it leave some funny visuals in my head.

Delayed till January 18, 2008. Jesus wept.
The Dark Shape, Does that mean that JJ Abrahms Cloverfield, Monsterous, Wreck is actually Aliens VS Predator? Just Kidding...It is humorous that both films arrive on Jan 18th.
Does that mean the trailers won't play "Silent Night" at the end? I kind of enjoyed that.

Now there's studio confidence!

I would have gotten raped in that Xmas slot anyway.

Ratty, Why is that? Aliens vs Predator was the only December 2007 film that I was interested in. Now there are none.

Source? Can't find any news stories to support that rumor.

Bloody-Disgusting, who has now taken the story down. Word has it that this is the UK release date and they got confused.

CHRISTMAS

Headless Fett, Thank You for tracking down those misinformed souls at Bloody-Disgusting.com and getting them to reveal "An Inconvinient Truth" about the AVP2 release date.

Moltisanti, I as well as the people of Whoville Thank You for your support on this issue. That is until the Pred-Alien, the Aliens, and The Predator ate the town to celebrate their Christmas Day properly.

Oh, I missed a December release. Mongol directed by Sergei Bodrov. A coming of age tale about everyones favorite battle hardened warrior Genghis Khan Starring Tadanobu Asano (Takeshi Kitano's Zatoichi) on December 28th.

I'm sorry, but it's really late and I can't stop laughing at this. I mean really, what the Hell?
Cogs Of Fate, Yes it was a reference to Al Gore's film. Since Bloody-disgusting had misinformed people of the AVP2 release date, I thought it fit.
Is Duke Fleed making a turn towards the conservative?
Curses foiled again, I would have gotten away with it too if not for my posting...I listen to Michael Savage, read Michelle Malkin (usually Wednesday in the NY Post), and wish that the acadamy could give a best fantasy award to Al Gore's An Inconvienient truth.
