Movie Moments that will ALWAYS Freak You Out... - Page 4

I really didn't like the Salem's Lot miniseries very much in general, but that kid at the window haunted my fucking dreams for years. How a moment that brilliantly creepy got into such an otherwise mediocre piece of work is still a mystery to me.

Dawn of the Dead (1978)- A few scenes: The scene towards the beginning of the film, where the racist SWAT team member fucking shoots off an immigrant's head, while he laughs with glee. My shocked reaction: "My fucking God." Not to mention the shot where the zombies enter the elevator that Peter is in, as well as the first shot of him as a zombie (that music when he appears!)
Halloween (1979)- When Michael Myers stabs Lynda's boyfriend to the wall and he stares at the body, moving his head from side to side, eerily examing his handiwork. Creeeeeepy.
The Ring (2002)- When Samara crawls out of the dude's TV and, suddenly, her image moves forward like a foot.

I'm resurrecting this thread in part cause this scene freaked me out a ton when I was a kid, but also cause I can't remember where it was from and don't want to create the millionth thread just to satisfy my curiosity about where I saw it.

Anyways, I have a suspicion that it may be from V, but I'm not sure. I am pretty sure it involved the slow and subtle take over of our planet by creatures that replaced people we know. The scene that freaked me out so much when I was younger was of a kid traveling in the back of a station wagon with his parents. I think something that his parents say confirms the suspicion that they aren't really his family anymore, but he's trapped in the car and doesn't want to let on that he knows. So, he writes a little sign on a piece of paper and holds it to the window to passing cars (one of which may have been filled with nuns), but I don't think anyone takes him seriously.

My memory of it is pretty hazy at this point, but it scared the hell out of me for a long time. Something about the switch of parents from protectors to inescapable threat is creepy.

Doesn't sound super-familiar, but it might be the remake of Invaders From Mars. Allow me to direct you to The Definitive 'Help Me Figure Out The Name Of A Movie I Can't Remember' Thread.

I'll see you in detention, Mr. Brand.

How about the vomit drinking scene from 'Bad Taste'?

"Ooh, aren't I lucky! I got a chunky bit!"

...gag...

The torture scene in Marathon Man freaks me out, especially because I have a fear of dentists.

Also the scene in Pelle The Conquerer where the mansion owner gets his dick cut off by his wife. That scream really haunts me.
