It's too bad Men at Work got tagged with the one-hit wonder label (even though they had three or four successful singles). His appearance on Scrubs singing an acoustic version of "Overkill" proves he still has the pipes.

I love "Beautiful World" far more then I should. He played Calgary a few years ago with a very small band. Most of the songs were just Hay and his guitar. Amazing concert and his version of that song was amazing. Seemed like a really nice guy, too.

Not sure if this counts but people tend to talk about Lyle Lovett's arrangements and his quirky lyrics but what hooked me on his work was his beautiful pure voice. The first time I heard
Simple Song I was in awe.
I also love the elasticity of Danny Elfman's voice. He's not the world's greatest singer but he does some very cool things with his vocals. Particularly his stuff on the soundtracks for Nightmare and Corpse Bride.
One of my favourite singers in the last fifteen or so years is Dar Williams. She puts a lot of emotion into her songs. Again, not brilliant but great to listen to.
