30 Rock: Season 1 coming to DVD on September 4th

Wonderful news, though them separating the season into 2 sets is odd.

Also, I have to agree with the blogger's observation of Baldwin's photo.

Season one of 30 Rock is coming out on DVD on September 4th.

The 3-disc package includes all 21 episodes, commentary by Alec Baldwin, Tina Fey, Tracy Morgan, deleted scenes, bloopers, and behind-the-scenes featurettes. For some reason, NBC has also made the first season available as two individual packages with the first 16 episodes in one package and the last five episodes plus extras in the second package.I'm particularly excited for the later two-thirds of the season, when Tina Fey and Tracy Morgan got into their groove and the supporting characters started getting better story lines. Kenneth the Page, for instance, really took off about halfway through the season. And Alec Baldwin's one-liners got more unbelievable with each episode.

Weird note: Does Alec Baldwin look extremely photoshopped on the cover of the DVD? He looks thinner and younger than he does on the show. I guess Jack Donaghy got final approval of the jacket photo.

yeah, very odd seperating it like that. Still very excited about the release. Quite possibly my favorite comedy on TV right now.

I want mini posters of all Tracy's movies included in the set though....I must have a "Who's Dat Ninja Poster"...

My user text says everything I need to say about whether I'll be buying this.

Great news. I personally only want the final 5 episodes. I'll nestle it perfectly between my Monty Python's Flying Circus box 4 and the 3rd disc of season 4 of Buffy I bought used from Blockbuster.

NBC sure likes to throw the wrench in when they can, don't they? Do they just have a department that thinks up ways to fuck up good things?

The NBC DVD monkeys have an established trend of photoshopping one character on each DVD cover. Sarah Chalke is the victim on all of the Scrubs sets.

And let's not speak about The Office DVDs.

I've got plenty of shitty covers in my collection (History of Violence being the red headed stepchild), so it's not like this lone DVD will fuck up my batting avg. As long as the extras are good and the show holds up (which I'm sure it will), I'm happy.

Somehow, I managed to gloss over what the press release had said.

But, like Paul755 said...I hope we get Tracy Jordan poster inserts.

That is some Seagalish cover slimming for Baldwin.
