DINNER FOR FIVE: Complete Series

Quick release date question for which I can't seem to get a straight answer. Amazon had listed the DVD of the complete series, which it said would be released on July 20. I thought it strange that it would be released on a Friday, but nonetheless I ordered it because it was $20 cheaper than list price. I got an email a few days ago saying the release date had been moved to mid-September, asking if I wanted to cancel. I went to Amazon again and it was listed as "In Stock," though it was back to full price ($59.95). I ended up cancelling my original order and ordering again on the main listing page that said it was in stock.

Does anyone know what the deal is with this title?

It's not a good sign when the cover they use is the cover to the "Complete First Season".

Either way, Netflix isn't helping me out with this one yet either.

AICN ran the "Complete Series" cover.

As for Banks' question: I had the same doubts. I saw the release date and my first thought was "wait, that's not a Tuesday..."

I figured maybe it was Amazon.com exclusive, but I haven't seen any word of this Complete Series set aside from the article at AICN Coaxial.

That said, I ate up the First Season disc and was actually pretty excited at this. The Favreau/Downey clip they had was a nice tease, too.

My "Track Packages" still says delivery slated for July 31. Hope, hope.

I got the date changed twice and it's now set to late Sept. However, my credit card got charged last night, so who knows. Interesting thing about it being maybe Amazon exclusive. Here's this link http://www.customflix.com/Special/Ab...AA.cfxworker01 that makes it sound kinda...fishy. Anyway. I guess I can get pissed at Amazon if I get a cardboard box filled with DVD-Rs.

Edited for redundancy

Yep, DVD-Rs. Packaging is fine but it's all a bunch of DVD-Rs, blue bottom and all. The video quality is exactly the same as the old Season 1. There are no special features, though. Not that the original release had many, but still. I bought the first season back in the day and loved it. I've been waiting for the entire series. This is going to be the best fans get. I'm not dissapointed, it just feels a bit shitty to not know what I was getting beforehand.

Fucking $60 for this? I guess I'm glad to know about it beforehand. So did you get it from Amazon then? I haven't gotten a shipping notice yet.

If this is all fans get, then that's fine. Can't complain too much. But still...

Got my shipping notice today. Amazon had it for only $41.00 when I pre-ordered a few weeks ago.

See, that's what I originally got it for, but then they said it wouldn't ship until late September. So I cancelled and re-ordered when it looked like it was in stock.
