The President made clear which side of health care progress he's on when he recently stated his intention to veto a Senate bill to increase funds for the State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP).

The despicable part of all this is that he doesn't want to expand a working, fiscally responsible health insurance program for children because it might make people more open to government funded health care. Sorry, poor kids! Just go to the emergency room!

"Hey look, this program is efficient and produces results. Mustn't let the people get wind of this! They might rethink their stance on the 'socialized medicine boogeyman' we've been carefully crafting for decades..."
