No one over in the main condolences thread would probably know who he was, but Walsh was one of the great head football coaches of the modern era.

Who will finish Medellin!? .... oh, BILL Walsh. That sucks. Especially since earlier this year it was said that he was in remission.

RIP, Coach.

Well, we'll always have those splendid Coors Light press conference ads to remember him by.

The Genius.

Greatest Coach of all time. 25 year from now, the Lombardi Trophy should be renamed the Walsh Trophy.

Great time to be a niner fan. USA today names Joe and Jerry the number 1 and number 2 players of the past 25 years, the unfortunate passing of Bill walsh which has a secondary effect of outpouring of praise about the great niners teams of the 80s, and a very exciting upcoming season for the new look niners.

I would hope everyone would know who he is (was). A true legend. RIP Bill.

Maybe Walsh didn't do something as profound as direct THE SEVENTH SEAL, but let's see Ingmar Bergman invent the West Coast Offense. Am I right fellas?

I posted it in the NFL thread. He's definitely important enough to warrant his own thread. I apologize to the Walsh family for my ignorance.

I don't know if anyone saw it last night, but Steve Young was interviewed on SportsCenter about Bill Walsh and I swear he was trying to hide a smile the entire time.
