Doesn't seem to be that big of a deal, but apparently:

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - Federal agents with cameras searched the home of U.S. Sen. Ted Stevens amid questions about an oil company official's involvement in a 2000 renovation project that doubled the home's size, law enforcement officials said.

Stevens, 83, is under a federal investigation for his connections to Bill Allen, founder of VECO Corp., an Alaska-based oil field services and engineering company that has reaped tens of millions of dollars in federal contracts.
You may remember Ted Stevens as he has become somewhat of an interent legend.

This is the Dickbag who:

1) Called the internet a "series of tubes" when talking about an amendment on a network neutrality issue; and ( http://intertubes.ytmnd.com/ )

2) Raised all holy hell when funding for some bridge in Bumfuck, Alaska was going to be cut in order to give funding to emergency relief in the wake of Katrina.

As you can imagine, I hate this fucker because of that goddamn Katrina speech. I hope he gets ass raped in jail.

He was also the Senate Pro Tempare (oldest member of the majority party=-- 3rd or 4th in line for the Presidency, depending on interpretation) before the Dems won in '06 (and thank God for that)...

I think our country would be much better off without this douchebag in office.

They probably don't need to do a lot of criminal digging, considering his understanding of digital communications is so off target that his whole "Net Neutrality" stance had to be handed to him by either Comcast or AT&T.

Methinks a simple campaign finance investigations will probably prove it to be both, and find many others in both the house and the senate.

The Daily Show has gotten a lot of mileage off him. They're probably drooling with anticipation right now.

Yeah, he's basically already admitted to getting caught, telling a local Alaska TV station that the DOJ is going to find what they're looking for and probably a lot more, too...the people of Alaska don't really care, tho, as Stevens has kept the oil money coming for so long (Alaskan residents have a profit-sharing arrangement with the oil companies...nice work if you can get it.)
