that is so weak that you won't be able to watch grindhouse. you have to watch the two movies separately with additional footage? was i the only one that enjoyed watching grindhouse the way they showed it in the theater? i want the extended cuts and the packaging on death rpoof is cool, but couldn't we get a bare bones grindhouse that shows the theatrical version with all the trailers. i mean, to me, grindhouse is one movie...not two. and it was a movie that I fucking loved. i want more on each film, which is why there is a place for two disc versions of each film, but there is also a place for GRINDHOUSE, a three hour funtastic adventure that was the highlight of easter.

Damn fucking right. Grindhouse was an awesome experience. The "aged" films, the trailers etc... Fantastic. But because it failed theatrically, the Weinstein's are trying to make their money back by splitting it. What's sad is it seems the ONLY way to see Grindhouse how it's FUCKING SUPPOSED TO BE SEEN is to download the fucking cam job on bit torrent. The Weinstein's are cunts, end of story.

I am confident that SOME disgruntled, talented fan will do a "fan edit" and reconstruct the movie how it's supposed to be as best they can. I am absolutely certain this will happen because if nobody else does it, I FUCKING WILL! And I'll fucking release it since the Weinstein's quite obviously won't.

Makes me so fucking angry. They released a hardcore "R" rated film experiment at fucking Easter. Quite clearly they're fucking morons. Then it tanks. WELL DUH! It was never going to make it's money at the theatre. Instead of treating the fans with respect, as you suggested, with a bare bones disk of the movie as it was in theatres, THEN doing seperate releases later, they're just fucking with us and dumping it.

Creature Corner is clearly cluess. "I still don't understand the reasoning of chopping up these films and releasing them separately". MONEY MONEY MONEY MOTHERFUCKERS! Doesn't take a genius to figure that out. Rather than $20 for a Grindhouse disk, we now have to spend $40 to get the movies. And then we can't have the full movie going experience.

Tarantino and Rodriguez did an amazing job of creating the most original film experience in years. An experience I found so great that I've now got into the whole grindhouse thing and have been checking out the old grindhouse movies.

To Tarantino and Rodriguez: Thank you for introducing me to a genre of films I had never experienced before.

To the Weinstein's: Fuck off and die, assholes. Just fuck off and die.

One more note: Planet Terror, as far as I'm aware, the "missing reel" was a gag and the footage was never actually filmed. That's what I read anyway.

That is weak. I saw Grindhouse at the Austin premiere and it was the SHIT. The audience was laughing and applauding and yelling shit at the screen. Best movie experience I've had in a long time. Best part of the night? Rose McGowan's ass asking to take a picture with me. http://www.mypicshare.com/zrav7clxpic.html

But back to the DVD. What's up with the "fake" trailers?

That's a good question. Neither of the dvds say anything about the trailers from Grindhouse. They just come with trailers for the respective movies. I'm looking into it...

Oh, and I've never seen a happier man than in that picture. Hahaha.

I really hope they include the "fake" trailers. I can't wait to watch these movies again.

I'm on the fence given we're being screwed out of the proper theatrical release anyway... If the "Don't" and "Machete" trailers aren't included, the Weinstein's can MOST DEFINITELY fuck off. Though not having the trailers does make my spider sense tingle that they'll pull a Lucas with this and in a year or so go "Okay, you can have the full thing on disk" after all the suckers have bought the other releases.

Of course those disk details may be wrong. After all, as I said earlier, from what I gather the "missing reel" of Planet Terror was never filmed.

Regardless, let me reiterate my earlier opinion and say FUCK THE WEINSTEIN'S.

Just wait another six fucking months for the full release.

That's the sad thing. We know it's going to be coming. We're know the Weinstein's will be all like "Oh, okay, you twisted our arms, here you go"... Makes me fucking sick the ENDLESS gouging we endure on DVD. Remember the old days? When you didn't have to go "Hang on a minute... Wonder if they'll double dip this?" Anyone who has ever bought the same film twice is part of the fucking problem and needs to realise that the instant they complain they are a total fucking hypocrite who needs to shut the fuck up.

So yeah, I'll definitely be passing on these releases and waiting for a proper "Grindhouse" release. As much as I liked BOTH films, and am a fan of both directors, I have no interest in owning them outside of the theatrical format.

I enjoyed "Grindhouse" as presented in theaters (thrice, btw) and will buy that version whenever they decide to release it, however, I'm also game for the upcoming seperate releases. I agree that all the faux-trailers should have been included on both releases but the promise of extended versions of two movies I dig more than outweighs that. Also, Best Buy will be offering tin versions of the movies each with their own bonus disk. Perhaps the trailers will end up there.

i always thought a bare bones grindouse would come first and present the movie as it was originally shown but instead we get these two special editions, which are nice, but I LIKE the movies with missing scenes. Im not looking foward to seeing the scene where Kurt Russel gets a lap dance. I have this wierd thing called an imagination and I like using it.

If they couldn't give us the theatrical they could at least give us a decent DVD.
