Standing in Line Behind the Man

Difference between them and me is a canyon grand with misery
chromosome cocktail mixed beneath the bar
single malt gone to shit

Bowing to the pyramid scheme for the sake of us all
gotta feed the mouth of my baby
to care about tomorrow

Standing in Line Behind the Man
Standing for anything I can
Standing just to turn to stone
Standing still to be counted and counted on

I punch the clock like my father before me
caked in soot from the old man's boot
ranked and filed my DNA corrupt, unworthy and expendable

Bowing to the pyramid scheme for the sake of us all
gotta feed the mouth of my baby
to care about tomorrow

Standing in Line Behind the Man
Standing for anything I can
Standing just to turn to stone
Standing still to be counted and counted on

I really like the chorus. The intro is really catchy as well - nice little riff. I don't like it as much as I liked Bisquick Marauder, but I still dig it. new album's shaping up really well!

I think this is a good album opener. Opinion?

I think it'd work as one provided there was some kind of an intro before it, otherwise it might start a little suddenly. Even three drum hits or something similar would be sufficient.

Well, as someone who's familiar with TKS and the sound, I think it's a great opener, as it reestablishes what you guys sound like really quickly, but to the uninitiated it may indeed start just a little too suddenly.

We've got a couple of intro-y tracks, but I'm not sure either would fit with this one. Maybe we'll do something special here. I'd love to stick some textural keyboards like Van Halen's "1984" (the track) for a minute or so right before it.
