You can bring a CD with you. Which one do you pick?

Keep in mind that you've gotta be completely still...

Dead City Radio or the Animatrix.

*EDIT* Or Tangerine Dream.

When I had to have an MRI, I brought Pretty Hate Machine for no reason other than I couldn't decide on something and it was already lying out on my desk. Not that it mattered because I could barely hear it. Not only did the loud jackhammer sounds drown it out, but from what I can figure you can''t actually use headphones in an MRI machine because they've got magnets in them and that'd screw up the images. I think what they do is have some tiny speakers somewhere outside the machine and literally pipe it in to you through plastic tubes. It basically reduced it to a rhythmic ventilation noise.

Soundtrack to The Insider, maybe.

Flashback humor!

I'd bring 'The Earth is Not a Cold, Dead Place' by Explosions in the Sky. That's not saying much, as the thing is on damn near constant repeat whenever I travel.

OK Computer, by Radiohead (but only if you have never wanted to listen to it before).

It's one of those "essential" records that often gets rammed down peoples throats, so this way, you can listen to it, but not actually have to listen to it.

I just don't like Radiohead, I guess...

The Last of the Mohicans.

Pink Floyd - The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn

If you don't mind me asking, what's the MRI for?

The MRI is for escalating back pain that's been with me for three weeks.

Thanks for the responses so far.

I'm considering John Coltrane's My Favorite Things or Singles, a Smith's compilation.
