The soundtrack will be released on 10/30 and will have the following music:

Holy shit, indeed.

Yeah, I'll third that holy shit. I'm not usually into soundtracks, but I'll certainly be picking up this one. Tweedy's "Simple Twist of Fate" should be pretty awesome.

There's a few songs on there I'm not familiar with, so maybe this will go well with my Dylan exploration from another thread around here somewhere.

A part of me is worried, and the other part of me loves the Velvet Goldmine soundtrack. I favor the VG soundtrack loving side.

That's pretty amazing, though part of me wishes they included Subterranean Homesick Blues.

Sufjan Stevens? Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova?! Cat Power??! Yeah, I'm all over this shit.

According to Rolling Stone, Sonic Youth's version of 'I'm Not There' is played during the closing credits.

Oh Jesus, Jeff Tweedy doing "Simple Twist of Fate'' is reason alone to buy this bad boy!

Hansard and Irglova!

According to Pitchfork, the Million Dollar Bashers are Sonic Youth's Lee Ranaldo and Steve Shelley, "along with Verlaine, Wilco's Nels Cline, and Smokey Hormel on guitar, John Medeski (sans frequent partners Martin and Wood) on keyboard, and Bob's own buddy Tony Garnier on bass."

Antony doing "Knockin On Heaven's Door" sold me. His version of "If It Be Your Will" on the LEONARD COHEN: I'M YOUR MAN soundtrack is devastating.

Nice to see Malkmus spread all over that track list.

Ranaldo, Verlaine, Cline, and Hormel all on guitar? I hadn't noticed that when I read the Pitchfork article. If it weren't for the fact that the other "house band" appears to be Calexico, I'd be pissed that they didn't have this band back up all of the solo performers.

Wow. Just...wow.

I look forward to Roger McGuinn's "One More Cup Of Coffee".
