Music videos and whatnot...

So I'll try to keep this quick and painless--I make no-budget music videos and just directed my first short film on Super 16. I don't have a legit website yet, just a MySpace (shudder) with some of my favorite pieces.

Seeing as most Chewers are more passionate and knowledgeable about film than the average film student (my usual go-to critics), I'd love it if some of you could take a look at what I've done and let me know what you think.

Most interesting? Probably "Amelia," "Murder!" and "So Cold I Could See My Breath." Those are the most plot driven, although "I'm No Sure Thing" is fun, too. The trailer is for my short film, more for the crew and friends to take a look at some footage, so the sound's really rough, but feel free to peek at it anyway.

Anyway, hope you dig 'em...let me know!

I really wanted to see what you did for the Emery song, because for some reason I fucking love The Question album, but my computer hates your myspace imbedded player and everything starts stuttering, so if you throw it up on youtube (or some other, friendlier video hosting site), I'll be more than glad to give you some kind of opinion.

I watched the Emery song, and actually enjoyed it quite a bit.

A couple of comments:

- There're bits when the editing goes a bit spastic (the quick cuts to the beat) which, for me anyway, don't really work. They're just confusing.

- I realise that you had no budget, but trying to do proper tracking movements by hand, just messes up the effect. Have you tried using a skateboard or shopping cart? Those usually work great for simple tracking moves.

Banacheq, the Emery video is up on YouTube I think. It was part of a contest, so if you just search "undone364," my user name on there, it should come up. There're probably one or two others, too.

And yea, I wish I owned a skateboard sometimes. Or a shopping cart. Or a wheelchair. Basically, if I were a homeless veteran, I'd have everything I need.
