Went to Blockbuster...

and Gross Anatomy (1989) was checked out.

By some lonesome troubadour, I imagine.

I have yet to see Pumpkinhead II checked in at my local BB. How weird is that?
If a film is never in at Blockbuster, it is either a film that was never returned that they never removed the backer card for or it is The Astronaut Farmer.

Oddly enough, a few days ago a friend tried to sell his copy of Gross Anatomy to Suncoast. They wouldn't take it because its value was less than $.50. Why he ever bought that in the first place boggles my mind.

Someone rented Cocaine Cowboys from my local Hollywood Video and hasn't, and probably never will, return it.

I once went on a rent-binge at BB and rented out 8 movies (I rented four, my mom four, but they were all for me). It was a long weekend and I had NOTHING to do, so, "eff it" I though.

That very day, after only watching ONE of the movies, a shitload of my friends show up and we improvise a party at my apartment. They crashed there all weekend. I stored the movies in a drawer the first night.

One week later or so later I remember about them and bring them in. I only saw one.

I don't even wanna think how much I owe. I haven't been to BB since.

The Mom and Pop shop that I go to, on one occasion told me that my previous one movie rental hadn't been returned, and I owed 27 dollars on it. I left, and I went back later when the manager was there, and I told him that I had indeed returned it on time, and when he saw on the computer that I owed 27 bucks on this one movie, even he thought it was ludicrous. He quickly wiped it from my record.

Someone rented Gross Anatomy starring Matthew Modine and Daphne Zuniga. I can't stress this enough.

Perhaps they thought it was a DVD release of Gray's Anatomy? Perhaps?

Sadly, this is where I admit I paid to see Gross Anatomy in an honest to goodness movie theater. I suck.

When you're 15 and don't have access to porn or know someone who has it. You have to do what you have to do.

I thought this is why Cinemax was invented or is it just called MAX now? Plus, it's so easy to get porn on the Internet, horny teenaged boys have it way too easy.

Yeah, especially if you grew-up pre-internet. You kids today can find all the porn you want. Back in my day, we had to rent Bachelor Party. Do you know how many fucking times I had to watch Adrian Zmed sing "Little Demon" just so I could see some nipples? It was a tough puberty....

That's crazy talk - Bachelor Party is its own reward; the bush (fuck the nipples dude!) is merely the graving on the icing of a flawed masterpiece.

Yes, but what is a flawed masterpiece?
A film that is the movie equivalent of the sound of one hand clapping.

...Which for me was pray to the 'Porn Fairy'; she was always good to me...left me wet plastic bags full of the stuff on railway-sidings or a single copy of some mag caught 'just' out of sight in the bushes near the entrance to the 'Kiddy Playground' in my local park; or a single 2-page spread tangled (toward the back) in the bars, of the fence of my old school...

Fuck the Internet.

Never forget the joy that is the 'Porn Fairy'...

Never stop believing in the MAGIC!!!

Went to Hastings yesterday. Every copy of Wild Hogs was rented. Only one copy of Inland Empire (out of eight) had been rented.

Why hasn't anyone ever mentioned Spaceballs: The Animated Series on these boards?! What is this?

Bachelor Party is one of the masterpieces of 80s Cinema.

It's been 23 years and I still hit every tennis ball out of the court in honor of ol' Rick Gassko.

Ever catch that when Nick the Dick whips it out for the guys, you hear a "thump" as his johnson hits the floor?

That, friends, is HIGH COMEDY.

True, very true. Seeing Monique Gabrielle's nether-regions did a lot for my ... um...development.

Someone suggested to me that maybe the mystery renter was mistaken and thought they were renting a disc of ABC's hit show Grey's Anatomy. Or a Spalding Gray monologue.

I guess seeing Zuniga in her prime holds some appeal...Wonder if it's been checked back in yet.

Did you look to see if LAST RITES was in stock?
