Yes. Instead of just Earth you can now view the sky too. This is ridiculously cool.

Can't you just look out a window for that? Or go outside?

Considering it's the night sky, with stars, planets and galaxies and shit, I'm guessing no.

That's cool, I've always wanted to know which is the best route from Earth to Uranus.

I read about this yesterday and meant to download it when I got home, but I probably started drinking and forgot. It sounded seriously cool. How does it work? Can you view the night sky from any point on the earth? I mean, I'd love to get a better idea of what's what when I look up at night--though since I live in the city if it isn't Venus, Jupiter, or Sirius I don't have a very good chance of seeing it.

It starts with the sky over your location but you can see any part of it you like. It controls exactly like Google Earth. The only bad thing is that it doesn't have maps of the planets, or I haven't found them yet and that it crashes more often than previous versions.

I think that Google Earth tends to use up more and more CPU power and/or RAM after each new version. I used to be able to run the thing just fine when it first came out, but now it sucks up all my processing power. I'm starting to look at it like an Adobe product nowadays.

You just need a referral to your in-network proctologist for that.

How does this compare to the more serious versions of Starry Night?
