Your most anticipated 2007 releases

Just reading the EW covering the fall movie season, and I just ain't thrilled about this year. I think when the dust settles this is not going to be the masterpiece everyone seems to think it will be. I think the only film released this year that could be called truly great is probably Knocked Up.

HOWEVER, I do have a list of ten or so that appeal to me quite a bit.

1. Elizabeth: The Golden Age - I think the original was a masterpiece and adding Clive Owen as a pirate, bringing back Geoffrey Rush, and that kickass trailer seal the deal for me.

2. Sweeney Todd - Burton remains a question mark, but the potential of this one is sky high. If everyone is firing on all cylinders, could be a masterpiece.

3. No Country For Old Men - Looks awesome. Great cast. Combining Coens and McCarthy is a great idea. And everyone who has seen it loves it.

4. I'm Not There - Big Bob Dylan fan, and the trailer is ferocious. If nothing else, this should be damn interesting.

5. The Darjeeling Limited - The ad did little for me, but I loved Anderson's last three across the boards, so I'll probably love this.

Also looking hot:

American Gangster
The Mist
310 to Yuma
Walk Hard
Sleuth

Yep, genre pics. All the Iraq movies are really gonna have a lot to prove.

For the remainder of the year, I'd say:

1. No Country for Old Men (although I'm more excited about "The Road" being made)
2. The Mist (is this going to be released in 2007?)
3. Into The Wild (great book, good word of mouth, awesome trailer)
4. Shoot Em Up
5. I Am Legend (50% chance of being a big disappointment, but who knows...Constantine was okay)
6. The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford (damn that's a long title)
7. The Kingdom
8. 30 Days of Night
9. Margot at the Wedding
10. There Will Be Blood

The Mist comes out in November, methinks.

The Mist could rock pretty hard. And you are right about INto the Wild. Forgot about that one.

All of the movies I was anticipating this year have been and gone. Grindhouse. Hot Fuzz. 300. Transformers. Nothing slated for the rest of the years gets my pecker up like the early months of this year did. (Hot Fuzz is easily my movie of the year.)

Ok, I guess some people don't understand what the statement "search fuction" means.
